Research: Survey

I have conducted an online survey as part of my research on the audience I would be targeting for my beauty magazine. I would also be conducting semi-structured and unstructured interviews to get a better understanding of peoples' opinions on the magazine.

What is your age?*

Do you like reading a beauty magazine?

How often do you read a beauty magazine?

Would a free gift encourage you to buy a magazine*

What type of beauty-themed magazine do you like to read?

What would you want to read in a beauty magazine?

What type of subscription offers would encourage you to buy the magazine?

Do you think beauty articles could be racists and controversial?*

What do you think could be done about it?

How much would you be willing to pay for a magazine?*

Where do you usually get your magazines from?

Research: School Magazine Logos

Some magazines improve their logos by using different colour schemes, different fonts and so on. This could sometimes be based on the various market segments they target. Teach, for example, produces various content magazines based on its targeted market segments. For its education-based neutral content, targeted at a wider, less-segmented audience, it uses a simple, broadly written, sans-serif font.  For its audience segmented as primary and secondary educators, it uses a much informal, bright logo to target its respective audience.

Preliminary Task: School Magazine - Final Product

Planning: Sketches

Starting up my work on the preliminary task of creating my own school magazine, the first step was to make illustrations of how I wanted my magazine to look like. For that, I created these sketches.
